Different base details
Dwarf Wall
From the plinth walls of 250mm thick cavity construction comprising of an external skin of either face brick-work or concrete block-work with rendered finish. The inner skin to be formed of 100mm thick insulation blocks and 50mm cavity fill insulation batts, internal walls to be finished with skim plaster.

Foundations
Foundations will be at a depth not exceeding one metre below finished ground and comprising of 600mm wide by 250mm deep in situ concrete. The foundations to be of a size and type adequate for the purpose and shall conform to the requirements of the building inspectorate. Walls to be formed of 100mm concrete block-work up to DPC level internally built off foundation. Cavity filled solid with lean mix concrete to 225mm below DPC level all round.

Substructure Walls
Walls to be formed of 100mm concrete block-work built off foundations up to DPC. Cavity filled solid with lean mix concrete to 225mm below DPC level all round. Cavity to be closed at cills and jambs incorporating DPC all with block-work returned and incorporated insulation and vertical DPC. Cills at floor level closed with extended screen to back of frame, including insulation and DPM.

This is a fairly typical section for the construction of a base and dwarf wall. This assumes that the site is reasonably level and without any major difficulties.

Solid Floor detail

A typical solid floor detail, you may decide to have a brick faced rather than a concrete faced base.

Suspended timber floor detail

Shows a suspended timber floor detail. This is a good way to overcome a large variation between levels. You will need brick steps in order to safely "step down" from your conservatory to the ground level.

Suspended floor detail

Shows a suspended floor detail used where there is a significant difference in levels between the ground level and the finished florr level of the conservatory. An air brick will be inserted at the front.
